In Wake of Election, Chesapeake Bay Restoration Effort Continues
(ANNAPOLIS, MD)—Following last night's election, Choose Clean Water Coalition Director Kristin Reilly issued the following statement:
"For decades, the work to protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay and its rivers and streams has unified our elected leaders. With tremendous bipartisan support for clean water, we now have record-high funding levels for programs that are critical for improving the health of our waterways and communities throughout the Chesapeake Bay region. We will continue working with all our elected leaders to fight for critical investments in clean water programs, resist harmful deregulations, and leave a legacy of clean water to future generations."
The Choose Clean Water Coalition is an organization that harnesses the collective power of more than 300 local, state, regional and national groups to advocate for clean rivers and streams in all communities in the Chesapeake region. The Coalition is fiscally sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt, not-for-profit, charitable organization; is nonpartisan; and does not coordinate with, support, or oppose any candidates for public office or political party.
